Heather Meyer
Heather Meyer graduated from Phillips Graduate University in 2013 where she specialized in Family Systems, as well as completed an extensive Addiction Studies program. Following graduation from Phillips, she completed her internship at a luxury residential facility in Malibu. Here, she quickly worked into a primary therapist position, helping to lead the clinical team and enhance program development. She developed a passion for working with those in early recovery struggling with co-occurring disorders. Her experience and leadership qualities have led to Clinical Director roles at established and start up facilities, focusing on individualized quality care and evidence-based practices. After transitioning to group and private practices, Heather continues to work with individuals and families impacted by substance abuse, young adults facing stage of life issues, as well as grief and loss, anxiety and depression. Her theoretical orientation is based in CBT, with solution focused and mindfulness techniques, as well as utilizing personal successes with sports psychology.
